Obafemi Martins scored a hat-trick as Shanghai Shenhia came from behind to defeat Hebei CFFC in Chinese Super League matchday4 on Saturday.
It was the first league game of the season for the Baba Omo product who has been tipped to make a return to the Super Eagles.
Hebei raced to the lead thanks to Chengdong Zhang’s 48th minute rebound before Martins pulled his team level when he swept home a grounder 14 minutes later.
Argentine star Ezequiel Lavezzi broke the spine of Shanghai with a well taken goal in the 64th minute.
The equaliser soon arrived. Martins pounced on a rebound to riffle the ball to the net.
Shanghai went in front for the first time in the six-goal thriller thanks to Freddy Guarin. He found space for himself in the box before curling it past the keeper.
The hosts rounded it off on 89 minutes with Martins poking home following a sweet pass from the left for his hat-trick.
