Nigerian forward Stanley Awurum was in cloud nine after scoring for Varzim against Sporting Braga B on Saturday.
The skillful attacker netted his team’s only goal from the penalty spot as they drew 1-1 with Braga in the Portuguese Segunda Liga.
Awurum, whose who suffered a career threatening injury with Portimonense expressed happiness scoring for his team in the tension soaked encounter.
“I was very happy scoring for my team from the penalty spot. The goal will serve as a booster for me in subsequent matches. I’m so happy and on top of the world.”
“The game was played at a very high tempo. We tried our best and got the draw,” Awurum said in an exclusive chat with Futbalgalore.com.
“My injury worries are behind me. I need more games to sharpen my fitness. Hopefully I will score more goals before the season ends.”
