Plateau United winger Yaro Bature has claimed that the consistency of the squad is what has taken them to third in the table.
The Jos club beat Nasarawa United 2-1 on Sunday, thanks to goals from Bature and Reuben Bala, to keep up their title hopes alive.
“This team has been almost the same for two years,” he told Futbalgalore.com. “The club has made a huge effort to keep the same base the past two seasons and it shows because we know each other.
“The games that we are playing are very solid, very concrete and we work well game by game.
“We were a bit slow at some stage and after the talk the coach gave us at halftime we changed.
“He gave us a good talk and in the second half it was different. We dominated the opponent to the points.”
The former COD United star expressed joy at his goal.
“I wanted to score after a long time, it was a relief to be on the scoresheet from the penalty spot
“My target is to help Plateau United retain the league title and score more goals,” he added.
