Okeimute Odah was delighted with how Plateau United responded to Nasarawa United’s ‘direct’ play, but he isn’t getting carried away with the 2-1 win.
The Peace Boys secured an hard fought win against the Solid Miners in the week 21 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
Goals Yaro Bature and Reuben Bala proved enough that Nojeem Olukokun’s effort was only a consolation for the visitors.
“We knew this game was going to be very complicated,” Odah mused in a chat with Futbalgalore.com.
“Nasarawa United made us work very hard to win the game because they were very direct and that caused us to have to find the confidence to attack them with care.
“We pressed well when without the ball, whilst at a defensive level we took no risks. We are a balanced team.
The NPFL defending champions currently occupy third spot with 33 points from 20 games.
“The goal for Plateau remains retaining the league title. Until we achieve that we cannot think of anything other than going game by game.
“We are a solid team and after today we think only to recovering and going into other games as if we had zero points.
