On-fire Junior Lokosa is happy to gatecrash Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup and is ready to fight for a place in the final 23-man squad.

The 24-year-old was named by Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr in a 30-man squad to justify themselves for 23 places available for Russia and the Kano Pillars talisman is grateful for his calling but insists he will fight for his place in the squad.

“It’s amazing to be in the national team. I’m happy for that and I’m coming to give my best and work hard to make the team,” he told Futbalgalore.com

Lokosa, whose versatility in attack allows him to play on either sides of the wings and also leads the attack, has bagged 18 league goals for Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

  1. talking about league standards, can we compare the Nigeria league to the Italy league? certainly not, but we still look out for local players in the team. no media house has campaigned for any player, Lokosa is always in the news and even on Chelsea’s radar. Sarcastically funny.

  2. think the media had really done a good job in campaigning for you….there’s no single day that you’ll not read a story on this guy,i wonder how much you paid them not to talk of playing in micky mouse league like the nigeria league.

  3. If Lokosa was an European, he would be playing in the top leagues of Europe by now. He is far better than most of the English n other European players.

  4. Players to be dropped Onazi: Indiscipline and out of form Agu: he is not impressive Agbo: Overhyped n Simy will expose Ighalp big time. He can dribble n keep possession without falling. He doesn’t have the talent. Iheanacho: shud be relieved
