Niger Tornadoes boss Hamza Abara has expressed his satisfaction as the Ikon Allah grabbed a 2-1 win away at FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
Usman Bashar scored an injury time winner to give Abara’s men victory at the Fortress, and the Coach was delighted with the three points.
“In the first half they had a lot of the ball and had opportunities to score,” he told Futbalgalore.com.
“But we also created chances which was pleasing. Whilst it wasn’t the prettiest of games, we competed well.
“The game was more open in the second half, but I think we were the better side.”
“We wanted to play a game where the group was stronger than the individual.
“We have to take steps to strengthen our identity, and that involves a strong defensive approach – and I think that’s something we achieved here.
“We wanted to win and got it.
“But I am satisfied with the effort we’ve put in.”
