2018 World Cup: Eagles Begin Training In Uyo

Coach Gernot Rohr led the Super Eagles out for a training session today at the Practice Pitch of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The training is meant to prepare the team for the friendly match against DR Congo in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Twenty three players showed up on the opening day of camp, with Joel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo the most high profile arrivals.

Others who trained are Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi, Francis Uzoho, Dele Ajiboye, William Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Elderson, Echiejile, Tyronne Ebuehi, Stephen Eze, Junior Lokosa, Chidozie Awaziem, Oghenekaro Etebo, Brian Idowu, Mikel Agu, Leon Balogun, Uche Agbo and Moses Simon.

Missing in training are skipper John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, Simy Nwankwo, Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi. They are expected to arrive in camp anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles and the Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo will slug it out in an international friendly billed for May 28 in Port Harcourt.

The away side will fly into Port Harcourt at 6pm on the 25th of this month, three days to the match.
