Brian Idowu hopes to be given the chance to start for Nigeria at the World Cup but admits he faces tough competition.
The Amkar Perm man has been sweating it out with 28 other players ahead of the friendly against DR Congo on Monday.
“I will play wherever the Coach needs me. I try to do my best job possible,” he said in a chat with Futbalgalore.com.
“Now I have to wait for the squad. We all have high hopes and I’m very happy about what might happen if I have the chance to go.
“Of course I will fight for my place because I am ambitious and I want more.
“When I was 15 or 16 playing in the senior team was a dream when we all start at the lower levels.
“It’s a dream to go to the World Cup. I hope we all get there in the best possible condition.”
