Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho has thanked fans of the Super Eagles for their amazing support in the team’s game against Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday evening.
The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by the Leopards in the international friendly that took place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
It was a full house for the Eagles who are World Cup bound. The fans filled up the Stadium on Monday.
The former Nigeria under-20 forward wasn’t impressive despite playing behind big striker Simeon Nwankwo in the warm up game.
He posted on Twitter thanking fans of the Super Eagles for their massive support.
“Thanks to all the fans that came to support Naija,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle @67Kelechi.
Iheanacho made his senior debut as a substitute in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Swaziland in which Nigeria drew 0-0. His first start for the senior team was on 25 March 2016, a 1-1 draw with Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
