In the last few weeks, some key Super Eagles players have taken out time to visit the less privileged and touched their lives thus naturally expecting divine or heavenly shower of blessings in Russia as the World Cup kicks off two weeks time.
The Holy books say, “blessed is the hand that giveth….” One can only hope and pray that this act of given by these Eagles will rub off on the rest of the squad to bring glory to Nigeria.
Before the Ramadan fasting commenced, Ahmed Musa had paid a visit to the camps of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) given out items which includes foodstuffs, clothings, beddings and others.
Just few days ago, he was joined by right wingback, Shehu Abdullahi to visit some homes to give out items and money to the less privileged as a token in the spirit of Ramadan. It was a gesture to assist them to adequately feed after breaking their fast. Both players received prayers from across board for this kind gesture.
Similarly, the defensive duo of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun who have struck a solid relationship both on and off the field of play visited an SOS to donate items ranging from food, drinks, clothings and money. They were prayed for by the management and inmates of the home.
Recall that Jude Odion Ighalo late last year established an orphanage run by his mother. The orphanage is to cater for the less privileged in the society. The striker stated that it is his own way of giving back to the society especially when he remembers how he started and how his mother provided all he needed. He noted that many are not as opportune as him hence, he is reaching out to them through his orphanage project and foundation.
It is only natural for these guys to receive in a trillion fold what they have given to the poor and needy. That trillion they are meant to receive hopefully starts with Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup and goes beyond the mundial.
May their gifts and provision for the poor bring blessings upon Nigeria’s participation in the mundial. God bless you guys! May you shine brightest in Russia!
