They came looking so horrible and scary. They were brandishing short guns and had a cutlass each to match. They were three in number all smoking marijuana and looking like devils on a mission.
It was the worst night of my entire lifetime. I never thought it will happen. If I knew, I would have sat down in Abuja and save my heart the trauma that followed. My hands were trembling, my legs shaking and my body temperature became unimaginable, six hours after the incident.
In my hotel room, I slept with legs on the door, my eyes refuse to sleep because every dose, reminded me of the men of the underworld.
Hence forth, I am dropping all my titles. Please don’t call me predator or adaptor, don’t call me names I could not boast of, in the presence of the unknown soldiers.
A gory night full of bad memories. I thought the gun was fake until I felt the coldness. In five minutes I have recited all the prayer verses in Psalm, I had called on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I prayed to God to forgive me all my sins.
I remembered all those I maligned and accused illegally on the platforms, I remembered Mr Dalung and I called him daddy.
Death walked so close but God gave me a last chance of repentance.
So this is the Port Harcourt I have heard great stories about, the Port Harcourt of our dreams. I am more humbled now than men can imagine.
