Super Eagles striker Gbolahan Salami has expressed delight with his current goal scoring form for Irtysh Pavlodar.
He grabbed a goal from the penalty spot for his side in a 2-0 win over Akzhaiyk Uralsk on Thursday.
The “Nigerian Balotelli” has begun to justify his price tag in the Kazakhstan Premier League.
He struggled for form and goals following a two-year contract with the club on January 25 as a free agent after parting company with his Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura.
The former Shooting Stars forward has scored four goals in the last four league games and assisted a couple.
This return to form has got the striker delighted.
“I think I’m getting there,” he observed in a chat with Futbalgalore.com. “I have said it before, I’m getting there.”
“I know my quality and I’m working hard and my teammates are giving me a lot of confidence. They have a lot of trust in me.”
“I am trying to do my best at the moment.”
Salami has so far scored 4 goals since joining on a free transfer.
Irtysh Pavlodar remain in 5th spot with 17 points after 13 matches.
