Former Rangers attacking sensation, Chikeluba Ofoedu who currently plies his trade with Turkish side, Eskisehirspor F.C has been applauded and commended for his act of charity towards the less privileged of the society.
This commendation came from his former coach who signed him into Rangers International F.C, coach Monday Odigie, from where he has gone on to make a good representation of the country in Turkey.
Odigie, showered praises on the attacking sensation after partaking in the novelty charity football match that had such players as Kalu Uche, Onyekachi Okonkwo, John Chibuike, Uche Agbo, Solomon Okoronkwo, James Okwuosa, Sunday Mba, Chigozie Agbim, Cyril Oriaku, Nnamdi Anyasodo and Emeka Eze appearing for Chikeluba team coached by Odigie against Enugu All Stars team which ended on a 3-3 score line.
“It is a very good gesture worthy of emulation by those that have made it in the game. This is a young man who realised where he is coming from and decided to give back to the society that encouraged him. I call on others like him to come back and give to the less privileged,” stated the former coach of various national teams.
The former Samsunspor arrow head in attack used the occasion to present various gifts to a numbers of less privileged homes in the coal city and also opened his palatial home in Enugu.
The event was witnessed by a mammoth crowd inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium that had Enugu state commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Joseph Udedi and the G.M/CEO of Rangers International F.C, Prince Davidson Owumi.
