Goalkeeper Emeka Nwabulu chose to look at Kano Pillars’ 1-1 result at home to Rivers United as a point gained rather than two lost.
The Pride of Rivers had moved into a 1-0 lead early in the first half, thanks to Osita Henry Chikere, only for Junior Lokosa to rescue a point for Masu Gida.
“I understand that after being 1-0 up there is hope, but we have to think positively because we have scored a point in a very difficult field,” considered Nwabulu post-match.
“I do not want a defeatist appraisal as this is a very important point for us.
“We were very good in the first half, finding spaces and playing good counter-attacks. In the second half it was the opposite.
“The important thing is that in a scenario as hard as this, the team has again competed very well. This is one of the fields where you are tested.
“We have to take a positive reading and make better the things that we have failed in.”
