Abia Warriors head coach Emmanuel Deutsche has praised the courage shown by his side after their 2-2 draw with Plateau United on Sunday.
In a thrilling game that produced four goals, Plateau United and Abia Warriors shared the spoils.
Saidu Salisu scored from direct free kick to beat Uche Okafor for the opener but Chinedu Efugh levelled up for the Umuahia Warriors with a sweet header.
Obi Samson silenced the roaring Jos fans when he put Warriors in the lead.
A last gasp penalty kick well converted by Salisu earned the Peace Boys a share of the spoils. Reuben Bala earlier had his spot kick saved by Uche Okafor.
“When you pick a good result on the road, you feel like you have won the World Cup? It’s just another game, we showed character against a good side,” the coach told Futbalgalore.com.
“I think it was a great game. I think the players of both teams gave, probably, a performance that the crowd had no right to demand really. But I’m sure everybody appreciated the hard work that went into 90 minutes plus.
“I thought we played really well in the game. We were brave, we kept on playing football.
“I thought we mixed it better and gave them a good fight.
“We showed courage, we kept getting on the ball and playing. We got the equaliser and went ahead but they came back with a painful goal.
