Head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has tipped Nigeria and Senegal to make a lasting impression at the FIFA World Cup 2018.
African representatives at the Mundial are Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt.
Nigeria will commence their campaign against Croatia on Saturday while Senegal have a tough duel with Poland.
“Most of the African countries at the World Cup have got very young squads. And I believe they can surprise many at the tournament,” Kwesi told Ghanasoccernet.com.
“Nigeria and Senegal are doing well with young players who want to achieve something,” the 57-year-old tactician added.
“They only need the right mentality for the tournament and they can cause a surprise.”
Eagles were pitted against Croatia, Argentina and Iceland in Group D. They will begin their group campaign against Croatia on Saturday at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
