Nigeria central defender William Troost Ekong was disappointed with the 2-0 loss to Croatia, in the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament on Saturday, but he urged the Super Eagles not to despair and stated via Social Media that they will bounce back against Iceland on Friday.
In Kaliningrad, Nigeria’s tournament got off to a terrible start as they were beaten 2-0 by Croatia in a Group D clash.
An own goal from Oghenekaro Etebo and a Luka Modric penalty took the Croats to three points and top spot in the group.
Ekong admitted it was not the kind of start they had wanted.
“Not the start we wanted last night,” Ekong who is on the books of Bursaspor wrote via his official Twitter handle @WTroostEkong.
“Time now to focus and prepare for the next game.
“We will bounce back.”
