En Avant Guingamp forward, Desire Oparanozie has rallied support for the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their 2-0 FIFA World Cup loss to Croatia.
The below par Eagles failed to fly in the Group D clash at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday night.
The Eastern European team had been the better side and kept the ball more but didn’t give an excellent performance.
It took an own goal from Oghenekaro Etebo to give Croatia the lead — the ball struck Etebo following a Mario Mandžukić header and rolled into his own net.
Luka Modrić put a second goal in the bottom left corner after sending the goalkeeper Francis Uzoho diving the other way from the penalty spot, which spelt the end for Nigeria.
Despite not playing brilliantly, Croatia now find themselves at the top of Group D thanks to Nigeria’s shoddy performance, but Oparanozie took to the Social Media to calm nerves and gave some words of encouragements to the three-time African champions.
“We may have lost our first game, but we aren’t out yet,” the striker who recently netted four goals for the Super Falcons against Gambia commented via Instagram.
“My total support is still on a high 💯/💯. Go lads…make us proud💪.
The Eagles will be back to action against Iceland on Thursday.
