Since Saturday’s 2-0 World loss to Group D rivals Croatia, Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has been bombarded with advice about personnel changes he needs to make before Saturday’s clash with Iceland.
It remains to be seen whether the 64-year-old will make any adjustments following the Eagles’ woeful performance in their opening match in Kaliningrad but he certainly has plenty of talent to call on if he decides tweaks are needed.
Although the scale of Saturday’s loss was truly shocking, Rohr reacted with much calm at the post match conference.
A backroom staff of the Super Eagles told Futbalgalore.com, “The coach may make two or three changes for the game against Iceland.”
“Things didn’t work out as we wanted (against the Croatia) but the group is strong and more united that ever, with a lot of desire to play the next match.
“Iceland is going to be a very tough opponent but if we match them for intensity and even show more and play as we know how I think that will be key.”
The Super Eagles will face Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on Friday. Kickoff is 4pm Nigerian Time.
