Sammy Ameobi has committed his future to Bolton, signing a new deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2020.
With his existing contract due to expire on Saturday, Ameobi has agreed terms for a further two years at Macron Stadium and will go straight into contention for Wanderers’ pre-season friendly at St Mirren on July 7.
The 26-year-old has scored eight goals in 60 appearances for the Trotters, which also included a loan period in the first half of the 2016/17 campaign, and he admits the morale at the club was one of the main factors in his decision to stay.
“It’s great to have signed a new deal because this place means a lot to me,” Ameobi told bwfc.co.uk.
“I’m really excited to be back and I can’t wait to get started.
“I spoke to the manager and he knows me very well. I get on so well with everyone here and it’s such a wonderful environment to work in. That was a huge factor in me wanting to stay here.”
