Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa has expressed his gratitude to the Nigeria fans following Super Eagles’ early World Cup exit.
The Eagles won just one of their three matches in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The team has arrived back in Nigeria and the Leicester man apologised for the team’s showing in Russia.
“We’re already home,” Musa who netted a brace for the team against Iceland told Futbalgalore.com.
“It’s been a very difficult World Cup for everyone. Simply, I want to show my respect and gratitude to the fans.
“For them, I would like to say sorry if there have been any moments of undesirable tension for them. I am sorry for that.
“Thank you very much for your understanding and support.”
Nigeria return to action in September with an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.
