Rangers overcome determined Emene

Coal city ‘Flying Antelopes’ and seven-time Nigerian League champions, Rangers International F.C, Wednesday, inside the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Enugu, overcame a stubborn Enugu based amateur side, Emene United 2-0 in a practice match.

Onyedika Ogbuke and Isaac Loute were the goal scorers for the premiership side who had misfired a few days back against the same side who ran away with a 2-0 victory on Saturday.

A sublime and well crafted free kick from the former Super Eagles left footed midfielder on 19th minute and Loute’ strike on 39 minutes was what silenced the amateur side that had such stars as Christian Obiozor, 2013 AFCON winner, Ejike Uzoenyi and a host of others.

Bright Silas and Jonathan Richard missed glaring chances in the second stanza to increase the tally after the armature side increased the tempo of their game but met a solid wall anchored by the duo of Okey Odita, Semiu Liadi and Pape Ousmane.
