Ubah: Nigerian football stakeholders must stay united to protect the sanctity of the game

Member CAF organising committee and president of FC Ifeanyi Ubah football club of Anambra state, Chief Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has appealed to all stakeholders of the beautiful game in Nigeria to put aside their personal differences and uphold the virtues of friendship, love and togetherness which has remained the driving force behind the round leather game.

The Anambra state FA chairman who singlehandedly sponsored over 60 Nigerians to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia says that was his own little contribution towards using football to further expose the youths by giving them a sense of belonging beyond the shores of this country.

He is happy with the giant stride Nigeria has made as a football playing Nation, attributing the success story achieved so far, to the brilliance and unique leadership qualities of NFF president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick whose inroads into CAF and FIFA has further opened doors of opportunities for Nigeria sports administrators, footballers and the media.

In the last 4-years, over ten Nigerians have been appointed into various CAF and FIFA committees, a feet that is unprecedented since Nigeria became a Sovereign Nation chief Ubah said.

Added to these achievements, Nigeria football federation president Amaju Pinnick has achieved what no Nigerian living, achieved, with his recent appointment as CAF 1st Vice president (pending official ratification).

Unfortunately, at a time like this when we all should celebrate the achievements of this noble Nigerian and appeal to Mr president to give him a National award for bringing honour to fatherland, we some persons have conspired to ridicule his achievements with some negative reports that has turned us into a laughing stock in the eyes of the world.

“My colleagues in the CAF Nations cup organising committee who are also here to savour the excitement of the World cup, have not stopped asking me questions about the situation back home as they still cannot believe that some persons will conspire to ridicule the achievements of a fellow countryman on the rise.

That is rather unfortunate and has not painted a good picture of us to the world he chief Ubah concluded”

The multi millionaire business tycoon has so far visited six match venues at the ongoing FIFA World cup in Russia, as he goes about spreading the gospel of “The 1family, 1footballer project”, a programme aimed at taking the gospel of the round leather game to over 50,000 homes around Nigeria.

This programme which will be launched in the next two months in Nnewi, Anambra state, has already received the blessing and endorsement of the NFF, CAF and FIFA.
