Nigeria booked their place in the knockout round of the 2018 U20 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a 1-1 draw against China in a Group D fixture on Monday afternoon.
Rasheedat Ajibade struck a last-gasp goal to cancel out Zhang Linyan first half opener.
With over 4,000 fans helping to generate a carnival atmosphere, a lively encounter looked to have been settled three minutes before the interval thanks to Linyan’s goal.
Ajibade, though, was to have the last word as she poked home a sweet cross from substitute Aishat Bello in stoppage-time to ensure that the Falconets booked their place in the quarter final for the first time since 2014.
