Pyramid FC have completed the signing of highly-rated Nigeria midfielder Azubuike “Zuby” Okechukwu from Yeni Malatyaspor on a three-year deal, reports Futbalgalore.com.
The Egyptian Premier League outfit did not provide financial details of the transfer but media reports said the big spenders had paid 2 million euros for the hardworking 21-year-old.
“Everyone in Africa knows how strong and exciting the Pyramid project is and I couldn’t think of a better club for me to continue my progression and reach my objectives,” Zuby told Futbalgalore.com.
The former Nigeria U23 skipper played 83 league games in a three-year stint at Yeni Malatyaspor.
He played an important role as the club gained promotion to the Turkish Super League in the 2016/17 season.
Zuby also helped Nigeria lift the African Cup of Nations under-23 title in 2015 and was part of the Dream VI team that won Bronze in Rio 2016.
