Former Abia warriors and Rivers United Hit man, Simeon Bolaji scored the winning goal as Horoya Athletic Club defeated AS Togo Port 2-1 in the CAF Champions League on Friday night.
The Nigerian who was instrumental in Horoya’s domestic title triumph proved to be a worthy substitute as his goal sealed victory for the Guinean outfit.
Horoya took the lead in the 11th minute through Mandela Amamoo Ocansey.
AS Togo responded in the 51st minute through Ablamvi Ayi Djadja whose sublime effort from inside the box was a beauty to behold.
Bolaji who is eligible to play for three countries, minutes after coming on as a substitute calmly controlled a pass in the opponent box before putting the ball in the back of the net to seal a 2-1 victory.
The Guinean side need at a draw in their final group match against Mamelodi Sundowns to qualify for the next round.
