Paderborn defender Jamilu Collins has declared his pride in making his debut for the Nigeria national side in the 2-1 friendly win over Liberia on Tuesday.
The left back told Futbalgalore.com: “I am very happy because it’s not every day you make your debut for the best team in Africa. I want to thank the coach.”
“I am here because I have a chance,” he said. “It is a pleasure to share a dressing room with these players and I’m just grateful to be here.”
“I will never forget the feeling I got when I looked up to the stands,” Jamilu Collins told Futbalgalore.com.
“Coach Gernot Rohr told me to be calm, to be myself and to keep the wing covered. I tried my best. All the players congratulated me. It is easy to play next to such amazing players.
“The team worked hard in the entire match.”
