Shakhtar Donetsk striker Olarenwaju Kayode was delighted to be part of their Champions League 2-2 draw with Olympique Lyon on Tuesday night.
The former Austria Wien forward came off the bench to replace Junior Moraes in the 84th minute as Shakhtar Donetsk surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Lyon.
He pledged to continue to improve as he attempts to win back a regular first-team place.
“I have just kept going,” he said.
“I have trained well and been getting ready for every game. That’s it.
“Today (Tuesday) I really enjoyed playing – it is important for us to play with the ball. I was happy with the way I played.”
Asked what how he felt after his team relinquished a two-goal lead in the away fixture, he added: “To be honest I felt very bad.
“We really controlled the game and didn’t give them the space to operate but we conceded two goals in two minutes.”
“The team has gotten over what happened in France, we are looking forward to the next game against Manchester City.”
