Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has urged the crowd at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium to fully get behind Nigeria in their crunch clash with Libya.
Nigeria are third in Group E of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with us three points from two games played and, on Saturday, will face the first-placed side.
“It’s a great opportunity for us, a home game,” Rohr told Futbalgalore.com.
“We are playing good opposition so we’ve got to make sure we are tactically prepared, which we will be, but also we’ve got to have belief in the team that we’ve got.
“We know the task we have; we know the opportunity. The whole country wants to be at the Nations Cup. It’s a great opportunity for the Uyo crowd to get behind us as well. We have a responsibility to get them on their feet, but equally everywhere we go, the opposition crowds really give the team a lift.”
Victory on Saturday will take the Super Eagles to six points, with three games remaining.
