Futbalgalore.com selects the best XI from top action over a long weekend.
Francis Uzoho [Elche]
The keeper was at his usual best on his debut for Elche. He commanded his area very well and pulled off crucuial saves against Real Zaragoza. Outstanding.
Brian Idowu [Lokomotiv Moscow]
Tackles, interceptions, blocked shots and clearances: the Nigerian was at his comfortable best limiting FC Yenisey Krasnoyarsk through the middle. Concrete.
Musa Muhammed [Gorica]
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles skipper had an ultra solid game and was arguably the game’s best defender at Inter Zapresic. Intimidating.
Godswill Ekpolo [Haecken]
Thanks to the likes of the former Barcelona B defender, Haecken maintained their push for a place in Europe with a 5-0 massacre of Dalkurd. Daunting.
Semi Ajayi [Rotherham United]
The versatile Semi Ajayi showed no mercy to the opposition. He was the General at the back as Rotherham United drew 1-1 at Preston North End. Unbreakable.
Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]
Always there to block any West Ham United attack and while sitting in front of his defence the Nigerian stood out with his technical forte and was one of the homers’ main men leaving defenders as supple as a step-ladder. He scored a late equaliser too. Defining.
John Obi Mikel [Tianjin Teda]
Ran the midfield at the heart of his side’s performance and was always looking to set up attacks. He was on song in the loss to Shanghai Shenhua. Superb.
Alex Iwobi [Arsenal]
Continually causing problems for Crystal Palace defence. Fatal as the fang of the most venomous snake, he was dangerous for the Gunners. Compelling.
Samuel Chukwueze [Villarreal B]
The winger burned off Atletico Bellaeres, given the slightest chance, while scoring two goals. His man of the match display was electrifying. Exhilarating.
Isaac Success [Watford]
Menaced Huddersfield defenders and capped a brilliant individual performance with a goal. Reliable.
Stephen Odey [FC Zurich]
Another game, another goal for the former MFM FC striker, who also provided an assist as his side lost 3-2 to St. Gallen. His work rate was highly commendable. Fabulous.
