Lobi Stars first round opponents in the CAF Champions League, Gor Mahia lost 2-1 to Bandari FC in their opening Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game of the 2018/19 season; the clash staged at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday, reports Futbalgalore.com.
Gor Mahia team who parades the likes of Shafiq Batambuze, Joash Onyango, Haron Shakava, Earnest Wendo, Samuel Onyango, Humphrey Mieno, George Odhiambo, Nicholas Kipkirui,
Francis Mustafa and Erisa Ssekisambu lost in the cracker.
The Bandari versus Gor Mahia match was expected to be tough and entertaining and it turned out to be just that as Bandari edged out reigning champions Gor Mahia 2-1.
William Wadri opened the scores for the Dockers just before the break and David Kingatua doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Nicholas Kipkirui reduced the deficit in the 79th minute but Bandari held on to win.
The first leg between Gor Mania and Lobi Stars will be played on Sunday 16 December at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
