There were plenty of smiles and laughter as Gombe United players came together at the Pantami Stadium on Wednesday morning for a training session under new Head Coach, Ladan Bosso.
Along with his backroom staff, Bosso conducted his first field training session since taking the reins on Monday.
After warming up, the group did some basic passing drills and were then separated into three groups, with each playing 20 minutes of 11-a-side to wrap up the 180-minute session.
“Today (the purpose) is just to see them and get them together,” he said. “We didn’t push so much, we just wanted them to come and do some technical work.
“The players look enthusiastic and very eager… We definitely have a lot (more) to do but I am happy and we are quite happy with the performance and enthusiasm (today).”
The gaffer has rich experience having managed Wikki Tourists, Niger Tornadoes, Bayelsa United and Abia Warriors in the past.
Bosso was a former coach of Flying Eagles and led them to quarter finals at the 2007 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
His first assignment at the Savannah Scorpions will be how to guide them to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the Nigeria National League (NNL) play offs.
