Here’s Futbalgalore.com’s team of the week.
Dele Aiyenugba [Hapoel Iksal]
Thanks to several superb saves the 34-year-old Nigerian earned a point for Hapoel Iksal at Maccabi Ahi Nazareth. Excellent.
Babatunde Michael [Wydad Casablanca]
Faster than a Gazelle with a lion on it’s tail, Babatunde produced a great performance as Wydad edged Hassania Agadir 2-1. His spot kick was a beauty. Superb.
William Troost-Ekong [Udinese]
Ekong was a rock in central defence for the hosts who humbled Cagliari 2-0. Solid.
Semi Ajayi [Rotherham United]
A solid performance by the 25-year-old, who almost scored in his side’s loss to Bristol. He was impressive at the back. Firm.
John Ogu [Hapoel Beer Sheva]
Totally in control and left the opposition defence feeling so glaringly thin that like a house of cards. Reliable.
Alex Iwobi [Arsenal]
Although you can only play what is in front of you the Nigerian still showed no mercy with an assist plus a series of dribbles and key passes. Always an outlet in the loss to Liverpool. Iwobi was like some viscous substance coming to the boil got even hotter as the game went on. Electric.
Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]
Whether in defence or midfield his tireless but simple work saw him win balls, set up attacks against Cardiff City. Determined.
George Jamabo [Hapoel Ramat Gan]
He was inexorable and stood out like a beef steak at a veggies’ barbecue in the win over Hapoel Petah Tikva. Exciting.
Joel Ayeni [Gokulam Kerala]
Another game, another great performance from Joel Ayeni, who scored a fine brace at Aizawl. With his two shots on target all going in, he could not have played much better. Exclusive.
Simy Nwankwo [Crotone]
He contributed a goal for the visitors who suffered a 3-2 loss to Ascoli. Special.
Christian Irobiso [Farense]
The striker had the run of the game screaming down the wing like a Jet Harrier about to take of. He scored a goal in the 5-0 victory against Oliveirense. Special.
