Heartland striker Moses Akinade is convinced the Naze Millionaires will not become embroiled in a relegation dogfight like last season.
Akinade believes the club now has a squad capable of bringing ‘a lot of joy’ to the fans and being able to do ‘something important’ in the 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
However, the forward made it clear that top-flight safety is the primary objective next term.
“Our first goal is to achieve safety. Once we have reached 38 points, which is more or less what you need to stay up, only then will we be able to talk about more exciting things,” the striker told Futbalgalore.com.
“We are on the right road to bringing a lot of joy to our supporters and doing something important, and I’m very excited to be part of the Heartland team.
“The fans have noticed that the team has been working hard in the games. It’s good to know the fans are excited, and that transmits itself to the dressing room. Hopefully things will go well.”
