Newly acquired Plateau United forward, Sikiru Olatunbosun has bid his former team MFM FC an emotional farewell as he looks forward to making his debut in the 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which will kick off this Sunday across various match centers.
The tricky left-footed player who joined the Jos-based team during the transfer window for the new season after an eventful years of service at the Lagos-based team shared an emotional valedictory message on his Twitter account: @Skolatunbosun appreciating his former team, family friends fans and the Media.
“Dear MFM FC I want to use this channel to appreciate the management, fans, the coaching crew led by a brother, a father figure, Fidelis Ilechukwu. I know the supporters & the fans wanted me to remain & I would have loved to but I had to leave for good reasons.
“It was very difficult for me to say goodbye and at the same time necessary at a time like this.
“MFM has contributed massively to my life on and off the pitch. Nothing in the world can quantify what the club has done for me and I will be eternally grateful for the memories.
“I will like to appreciate my family and friends & the Media especially the Lagos Media for the support. It’s been a great honour to be one the players that made history with MFM FC and I cherish every moment with the team as I look forward to a great future in my career.
“Now I am Plateau United for the new season that will be starting tomorrow. The reception was massive and the atmosphere is great and I am loving it here.
I want to be successful and achieve with this team, I want to win the league and be among the history makers at the end of it all.”
Olatunbosun is expected to make Coach Abdul Maikaba squad that will face FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday at the Jos City Stadium for the new top flight season.
