Enyimba began the new Nigeria Professional Football League season with a comfortable 2-0 win over MFM F C in Aba.
The hosts were the first to create the first real chance of the game, Abdulrahman Bashir seeing his effort from a Thomas Zenke cross saved by the keeper, and Austin Oladapo also came close to scoring when he shot inches over.
However, the Aba side did eventually take the lead 14 minutes into the game. Nelson Ogbonnaya headed them into the lead. It came from a long throw from the left.
Eight minutes the second half Abdulrahman Bashir doubled the advantage. Just like the first, the second goal camr rom a header. This time, Andrew Abalogu swung an excellent free kick to the path of Bashir, who headed into the near post.
