Below, Futbalgalore.com selects its best XI from last weekend’s action.
Austin Ejide – Hapoel Hadera
In Hadera’s 2-1 win over Bnei Sakhnin, Ejide made some crucial saves for his side.
John Lazarus – Lobi Stars
Against Mamelodi Sundowns, John Lazarus played with energy and pace.
Akpos Adubi – Rangers
Akpos was faultless in the centre of defence in Rangers’ 2-1 win at Bantu FC. He was calm and assured at the heart of the defence line.
Kenneth Omeruo – Leganes
He was the standout player at the back for Leganes who won 1-0 against Huesca.
Chidera Ezeh – Rangers
Chidera did really well to dig out two assists, first for Bright Silas and then Godwin Aguda.
Wilfred Ndidi – Leicester City
A regular starter all season for Leicester City, Wilfred Ndidi helped reduced the tally in the 2-1 defeat to Southampton.
Michael Babatunde – Wydad Casablanca
The utility player was known more for his swinging pass than ability in his early career, but not any more. He is a real force, and is quickly emerging into one of the best of his kind on the African continent. His goal against ASEC was well taken.
Alex Iwobi – Arsenal
Quite probably one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has a wonderful ability on the ball and plays the game at his own pace – such a rare trait.
Ademola Lookman (Everton)
Lookman was a positive outlet and created an assist in the win over AFC Bournemouth. The former Charlton man was a real threat all game, combining defensive work with his skillful running.
Anthony Ujah – Mainz
The former Cologne and Lillestrom striker found the back of the net in his side’s draw with Freiburg.
Samuel Mathias
Samuel Mathias was on hand to hit the winner against Mamelodi Sundowns, carrying his side through the match.
