Midfielder Oladoye Adewale got injured at the tail end of the Flying Eagles camping exercise in Germany, according to the Water FC product.
The Water FC defensive midfielder held his own but injury cut short his dream of playing at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
A player’s greatest asset is good passing of the ball and ability to cover ground in the field of play.
Injury cost him a place in the 21-man squad named by coach Paul Aigbogun earlier in the week.
“Injury is part of football. I got injured towards the end of the camping exercise,” the youngster said.
“God knows why because I dreamt of playing at the World Cup. I had gone far with the team right from the training sessions in Abuja to Germany.
The lanky player has been compared to former Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira due to his playing style.
“I am looking forward to surpasing the records of Patrick Vieira. He is my role model. My team mates do call me Patrick Vieira.
The Water FC midfielder wished the Flying Eagles the best in Poland.
Oladoye Adewale is such a promising young lad who has great future ahead of him. His playing style has attracted several scouts in Europe.
