AFC Bournemouth and Southampton have reportedly joined RB Leipzig in the race to sign Everton youngster Ademola Lookman.
The 21-year-old impressed on loan at the Red Bull Arena in the 2017/18 season, scoring five goals and registering three assists in 11 appearances.
Lookman’s exploits helped Leipzig finish sixth in the Bundesliga table and secured a Europa League second qualifying round place.
The Daily Echo says Southampton are said to be targeting a £20m move for the wide-man with Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl having worked with Lookman when the Englishman was on loan at Hasenhuttl’s former club RB Leipzig last season.
The report claims Leipzig attempted to make the move permanent last summer, but their £22m bid was rejected as Everton held out for £28m.
Leipzig are said to still be interested in resurrecting a deal with Cherries also keeping tabs on the situation.
The Nigerian born winger wasn’t a regular for Everton in the recently concluded season, making 21 appearances with most of them from the bench.
Despite sliding down on the pecking at Everton, the dashing winger is highly rated in Europe.
He has caught the eye of both the Cherries and Saints, though the Toffees are thought to be ready to cash in on him.
Lookman joined Everton from Charlton Athletic in January 2017 and is contracted to the Goodison Park outfit until June 2021.
