The Water FC Academy product believes his team is ready to take on the Qataris in Tychy.
“We are feeling good and are ready because the enthusiasm to play against Qatar is very high,” Makanjuola told Futbalgalore.com.
“I hope to celebrate my 18th birthday with victory for the Flying Eagles. We are motivated to win the game against Qatar.
“We need that feeling because it brings willpower to achieve results. We want to perform well and make an impact in the tournament.
“That feeling is very good for every team. Even though it is usual for teams to feel tensed especially when they are going to play against a strong team but we are not in that state. We want a good result so we can build on it to qualify from the group stage,” he added.
Nigeria will later play USA on May 27 before facing Ukraine in the last game of the group on May 30.
