Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has been voted the player of the match following his stupendous performance for the Super Eagles in the West Africa derby against Guinea in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B.
Omeruo, 25, displayed a supersonic performance to guide his side to secure three points with the match winner.
He covered aces of space to shorten create chances in midfield and pushed the Guineans back. Efficiently mobile and intelligent to limit Guinea’s chances upfront, he announced his presence with a fabulous header from a delirious cross from Moses Simon.
The Super Eagles defender was applauded by all at the stadium.
His second half performance which was more energetic than the first half saw him pulling the breaks on the Guineans making him an outstanding performer in the game.
