Nigerian born striker Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe bagged his first hattrick in the Irish Premier League on Friday when Derry City thrashed Cork City 4-1 at the Turner’s Cross Stadium, reports Futbalgalore.com.
The former Maldon & Tiptree goal poacher netted in the 26th, 30th and 65th minutes to aid Derry City away from home.
Before the fixture, the striker had scored three goals in the elite division this term and got himself another three on Friday.
Derry City are currently sitting 4th on the league table after 21 round of matches.
Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe is on loan to Derry City from Colchester United.
The 24-year-old joined the Candystripes at the beginning of the season and has bagged 6 goals in 21 matches.
In January 2018, Ogedi-Uzokwe joined Colchester United from Bostik North side Maldon & Tiptree, for whom he scored 34 goals in 34 appearances.
He previously had spells with Carlton Town, Enfield Town, FC Barkingside, Hayes & Yeading and Lewes, and also played for the youth teams of Leyton Orient, Ilford FC and Millwall FC .
His contract with Colchester United is due to expire on 19th November 2019.
Eligible for Nigeria and England, Ogedi-Uzokwe has no international representation to date.
