Athletic Club Omonia Nicosia have announced the signing of young goalkeeper Francis Uzoho on loan from Deportivo La Coruna until the end of the 2019/20 season, reports Futbalgalore.com.
Uzoho is expected to boost Omonia’s goalkeeping options. He isn’t a novice in Cyprus having played for Anorthosis Famagusta on loan in the second half of last season.
Omonia also have an option to complete a permanent deal for the 20-year-old, who is determined to take his chance at the Cypriot side.
The goalkeeper is Omonia’s 14th signing ahead of the demanding 2019/20 campaign.
The Queen have already brought in decent players such as Dimitrios Kolovos, Adam Lang, Joel Pereira, Vítor Gomes, Thiago Santos, Rúben Alves, Michael Lüftner, Alki Oroklini, Foivos Christodoulou, Marios Dimitriou, Andreas Sofokleous, Andreas Frangeskou and Nikolay Kipi as they look to build on last season’s 6th place finish.
Despite the departure of goalkeeper Tomás Mejías to Middlesbrough, competition for a starting place in goal for the Queen is still high.
