Nigerian duo Samuel Adegbenro and Babajide Akintola were in stunning form as Rosenborh powered past Ranheim 3-2 in a pulsating Norwegian top flight match on Thursday night.
Adegbenro grabbed a goal and provided an assist while Akintola was also on target in the dramatic fixture.
The match was a half-hour old when Alexander Søderlund struck a great pass through to Samuel Adegbenro who on the fly put it past Even Barli to make it 0-1.
Rosenborg continued to produce the goods and after 43 minutes, Birger Meling sent a diagonal pass to David Akintola who took the ball down and sent it to the nearest post. Unfortunately, his effort hit the wrong side.
Ranheim attacked and got the leveller. Magnus Blakstad was in place to score for them.
Samuel continued to devastate the left side in the second half. Six minutes after the break he left on the move and got down the line. Mads Reginiussen blocked at the near post, but then Adegbenro spotted his countryman Akintola on the rear. “Baba” came free and applied the finishing touch.
Towards the end, the entertaining match opened up even more. Ranheim moved forward with many players.
And five minutes before full time equalised Ranheim again. Ivar Sollie Rønning Lobbet beat André Hansen and in the finish.
But Rosenborg had the final say in the 88th minute through Alexander Soederlund who brilliantly scored the winner.
