Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir maintained their tradition of eye-catching business with a surprise loan move for Pyramids central midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu.
The Nigeria U23 skipper, who was sent on a short term loan to Caykur Rizespor in the second half of last season, will add valuable experience to the Basaksehir squad as they battle to wrestle back their league title from Galatasaray.
The club suffered from lack of quality personnel in central midfield, this made them relinquish the league title to Gala.
Azubuike Okechukwu, who can play a defensive or holding midfield role, moves to Istanbul Basaksehir on a one year loan. He is under contract with Pyramids until 2022.
There is an option in place to turn the agreement into a permanent deal in July 2020.
Zuby will feature in the UEFA Champions League in the new season after Basaksehir finished behind double champions Galatasaray this past season.
