Benfica have received yet another huge injury boost with the news that Tyronne Ebuehi has begun full training after his horrific cruciate ligament injury, reports Futbalgalore.com.
Ebuehi has been out of action for almost 13 months after he suffered the terrible injury during a friendly and had to endure a slow rehabilitation programme ever since.
The right-back who joined the Portuguese giants from ADO Den Haag in June 2018 replaced André Almeida in the 67th minute as his side bowed 4-2 on penalties to Juventus at Red Bull Arena after scores stood at 1-1 in a pre season friendly.
He ruptured his cruciate ligament in the game and went under the knife to correct the damage.
23-year-old Ebuehi stood out for Nigeria in the game against Iceland at the Russia 2018 World Cup with his ability to operate as a wing back or full back on either flanks the hallmark of his display for Nigeria.
Benfica have missed Ebuehi’s buccaneering runs down the right flank during his time on the sidelines.
However, the defender will have a fight on his hands when he eventually returns to the fold in the coming days.
