Ex Everton star Steven Pienaar is a big fan of Ademola Lookman and is excited to see how the youngster will perform in the Toffees team next season.
The former Toffee is backing the winger to shine in the 2019/20 campaign.
“I am looking forward to Lookman getting more game time and developing as a player because he is a really exciting young player,” Pienaar told the Liverpool Echo.
“He is still young and raw but I can see a lot of good signs in him. His talent is there, he just needs the finishing touches and hopefully this will be his season to break through.
“I was quite fortunate when I broke into the Ajax first-team, Ronald Koeman came in the December and two months later he played me and let me play until the end of the season.
“Young players need to make mistakes to learn from them and you need to play week in, week out. There is a lot of expectation to win games but he just needs to push himself and be consistent.”
Lookman has been on the books of Everton since January 2017 when he joined from Charlton Athletic for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11 million.
The youngster has struggled to establish himself in the Toffees’ first team under manager Marco Silva.
According to WhoScored, Lookman made three starts and 18 substitute appearances in the Premier League in the 2018/19 season, providing two assists in the process.
