Spezia star David Okereke is edging ever closer to joining Club Brugge Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging this summer, with only a few details left to be ironed out between the clubs before the forward gets the green light to undergo a medical today, reports Futbalgalore.com.
Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Standard Liege were linked with Okereke in the Summer Transfer Window.
The forward is now just ‘one step away’ from securing his transfer to Club Brugge ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Okereke will become the Blauw-Zwart’s new signing after the two clubs agreed on a €10m transfer fee.
There are only a few details which need to be sorted out before Okereke can undergo his medical with Club Brugge today, but it’s expected that his arrival will be a formality because Spezia have given the green light at their end.
The Nigeria international has established himself as one of European football’s brightest prospects ever since moving to Spezia’s in 2016.
He won’t act as a like for like replacement for Wesley who recently joined Aston Villa, but Okereke’s arrival will soften the blow of losing the Brazilian.
The Nigerian turns 21 next month and had an impressive Serie B season with 10 goals and 12 assists.
He is set to fly out for a medical on Monday after finalising the personal terms too.
