Nigeria forward Fanendo Adi climbed off the bench to score the match winner for Cincinnati in their 2-1 victory over Chicago Fire in the USA Major League Soccer.
The visitors went into the game with bags full on confidence after winning 3-2 in their previous battle with Houston Dynamo.
As Cincinnati went in search of the three points, manager Yoann Damet replaced Rashawn Dally with Adi in the 67th minute.
The move paid off in the 81st minute as Adi broke the hearts of Chicago Fire with a smart finish. Adi ran behind Kekuta Manneh’s well-placed through ball and connected on his first touch with a left-footed shot that slid past the goalkeeper.
Adi registered his first goal of the 2019 MLS season in the highly entertaining battle.
