Coach Gernot Rohr has praised the attitude exhibited by the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles who missed the last editions of the competition after winning it in 2013 were beaten by Algeria in the semi final on Sunday.
They will hope to end the competition on a positive with victory over Tunisia in the top place match on Wednesday night.
According to Gernot Rohr his team’s march to the semi finals is commendable.
“This team is very young. We have been fine with the spirit and solidarity. We have managed our captain John Obi Mikel who has sometimes been benched. All has gone well,” the Franco-German said at a Press Conference attended by Futbalgalore.com on Tuesday.
“To have finished in the last four is commendable. The last time Nigeria reached this stage was in 2013. It’s a good result for everybody.”
“In your last outing, the result matters for the future. We lost to Madagascar in the last group game. We wanted to see something different but the result wasn’t good. Now we want to see something similar to the last game against Algeria. Also we want to have the result,” he concluded.
